A 16-year House veteran, Del. Anne Healey of Hyattsville works to mentor newly elected women delegates – “I don’t want any female who serves her community to feel any less than a male,” she said.
Ever innovative, Healey was the lead sponsor of the Fair Share Health Care Act back in 2005, which targeted large Maryland companies that did not offer health care to their employees. The legislation was later replicated in other states and incorporated into the federal Affordable Care Act.
