Christina Collins-Smith is active in fundraising and board leadership of the Gilchrist Gallery and the Arts Council. She also teaches eight courses a year in the division of fine and performing arts at Carroll Community College, mentoring an average of 75 students per semester.

Collins-Smith helped support the founding of the Carroll Media Center and co-founded the Roots Music and Arts Festival. She also holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Western Maryland College, now McDaniel College, graduating summa cum laude
