Kathleen A. McGinley is the Baltimore office managing partner and office litigation manager of Jackson Lewis P.C. An experienced litigator, she represents private and public sector employers in all areas of employment law.

McGinley provides compliance advice and preventative training to employers, helping them develop the policies and handbooks that address multistate needs. She also counsels employers on real-time, complex employment decisions, including difficult terminations and disability accommodation requests.

Her cases include claims for unpaid wages and overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state law, along with claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and retaliation. She also handles employment-related torts such as invasion of privacy and defamation, with matters proceeding in state and federal courts, in arbitration and before administrative bodies. Disputes arising from employment contracts, including the enforcement or breach of restrictive covenants and the handling of trade secrets, are part of her practice as well.

McGinley was drawn to labor and employment law because it sits at the intersection of business and people. Early in her career, she realized that the field offered the opportunity to help clients navigate complex, often high-stakes situations. What started as a practical path became more meaningful as she saw how thoughtful guidance can make a real difference for organizations and the individuals within them.

She has always been inspired by people who lead with a strong sense of integrity and responsibility to others, particularly those who take the time to mentor. McGinley was fortunate to begin her career working with people who modeled that approach, and she tries to carry the same into her day-to-day.
