Patrick Dillon is an associate in the litigation department at Shapiro Sher, where he represents businesses and individuals in complex construction, commercial and civil disputes. His practice spans construction defect claims, fraud, real estate and contract litigation, commercial landlord-tenant matters, negligence actions and post-judgment enforcement across trial and appellate courts in both state and federal jurisdictions.

Dillon has secured notable results for his clients, including a favorable outcome in a multimillion dollar mechanics’ lien action and a complex construction and insurance coverage lawsuit, as well as a multimillion dollar judgment in a fraud and conspiracy action filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

Beyond the courtroom, Dillon contributes to the legal community through his service on the Maryland State Bar Association’s Construction Law Section Council, where he supports statewide programming, education and thought leadership. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Bar Association of Baltimore City.

For eight years, Dillon has volunteered as a coach for the University of Maryland’s National Trial Team — a program he participated in as a law student — helping aspiring advocates develop courtroom skills and compete nationally. He also mentors students through the Office of the Attorney General’s Thurgood Marshall Clerkship Program.

Dillon’s community involvement extends beyond the legal profession. He serves on the board of Rebuilding Together Baltimore, supporting housing stability and neighborhood revitalization efforts.

He volunteers with Leveling the Playing Field, an organization that provides sports equipment to underserved youth in Baltimore, and supports the House of Ruth, which works to protect and empower survivors of domestic violence.

Dillon earned his Juris Doctor in 2017 from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where he received the William P. Cunningham Award and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology with a minor in Spanish from Villanova University. Prior to joining Shapiro Sher, he clerked for the Hon. Lawrence P. Fletcher-Hill of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and built his foundation in civil litigation at a regional firm. He has been recognized as a Maryland Super Lawyers Rising Star in Construction Litigation in 2023 and 2024.
