Alan Tsao, founder and CEO of Baltimore Watch Company, has built a Maryland-based timepiece brand rooted in community and craftsmanship since the company’s founding in 2017.

Operating as Tsao Baltimore LLC, Baltimore Watch Company designs, assembles and tests its watches in Maryland. The company has partnered with some of Maryland’s most recognized brands, producing timepieces that reflect regional pride and have found audiences worldwide.

Under Tsao’s leadership, the company has posted consistent growth. Revenue rose from $1.5 million to $1.71 million in the most recent fiscal year — an increase of more than 14%. The company relocated its headquarters from a 750-square-foot facility to a 7,100-square-foot space in Baltimore and has grown its team to seven employees, milestones Tsao counts among the company’s most meaningful achievements.

Tsao, who leads the 75% minority-owned company, frames entrepreneurship as a universal experience defined by sacrifice and persistence. “I believe every small business owner faces the same difficulties, limitations and unique journeys that define us, regardless of our background,” he said.

The business sponsors local events and donates timepieces to nonprofits and organizations throughout the region. “Our foundation is community and bringing people together,” Tsao said. “Our timepieces are enjoyed all over the world, creating an amazing community of watch enthusiasts and people that just love Maryland.”

Looking ahead, the company plans to announce new strategic partnerships, introduce additional watch designs, expand its operations and launch its first capital round.
