A discount retail store in plans to expand its operations into nearby after signing a lease for 3,600 square feet of space in the Golden Ring Business Center, Baltimore-area company announced Wednesday.

The Thrift Boutique, which markets fashion and household goods, is located at 1589 Merritt Blvd. Golden Ring Business Center, a 135,000-square-foot warehouse/industrial building at 7110-7130 Golden Ring Road in Essex, has space designated to store overflow inventory, according to a release.

According to owner Lazaros Giannos, the Golden Ring space is needed for the advancement of plans. He said he intends to open at least five more stores over the next five years, including a second location this year, according to Hill Management Services.

“We chose Golden Ring Business Center because it is centrally located within our desired expansion footprint,” Giannos said. “Our current location does not have adequate storage and this warehouse will help us properly organize and sort products, and significantly contribute to our plan to scale our operations.”

Giannos, a Greek American entrepreneur, moved to the U.S. in 2008 and opened the Dundalk storefront establishment in 2025, the release says.

Thrift Boutique collects used apparel, footwear and other items to resell, aiming to help keep waste out of landfills. The store also looks to aid local families with clothing and household essentials, according to the release.

The warehouse space to be occupied by Thrift Boutique is equipped with 18-to-21-foot ceilings, a rear dock and drive-in loading docks.

“The Thrift Boutique is a highly-popular retail concept and Golden Ring Business Center fulfills the storage requirements needed for the shop to maintain its robust activities and expand,” Hill Management Services executive Danielle Beyrodt said in a statement.
