What’s the most important thing you do in your job?
The most important things I do are: guide families through one of the most challenging transitions of their lives, empowering my clients with knowledge and support while fostering creative, practical solutions to complex financial and custody issues, model problem-solving, always with a focus on building a stronger path forward. My role as President of the Collaborative Professionals of Baltimore is important to me as I am actively engaged in efforts to spread Collaborative Law, an ADR process.
What qualities do you need to be a successful family law practitioner?
A successful family law attorney needs attention to detail, deep knowledge of family law and related areas, compassion and listening skills to support clients, and objectivity to give clear guidance. Strong negotiation and advocacy skills are essential for resolving disputes and achieving successful court outcomes, helping families navigate difficult transitions with skill, integrity, and care.
Outside of your legal practice, what activities or interests are you passionate about?
Outside my legal practice, I’m passionate about building relationships and fostering connection, which I do in my role as a Trustee at Temple Isaiah and as the founder of Temple Isaiah’s group for widowed and divorced individuals. I enjoy, reading, engaging in health and wellness related activities such as cooking “healthy alternatives” and exercise, particularly in community with others, studying Mussar, relaxing in Rehoboth Beach, and, most of all, spending time with my two sons.
