Krystle Acevedo-Howard is a partner at Rodier Family Law, P.A., where she has practiced since 2018 and earned partnership in 2022. She specializes in high-conflict divorce cases involving domestic violence victims and minor children and serves as a court-appointed Best Interest Attorney in complex custody matters, advocating for children in contentious legal battles.

Acevedo-Howard completed the Maryland State Bar Association Leadership Academy in 2018-2019, a program designed to cultivate leadership among diverse attorneys. She now serves as co-chair of the program, where she mentors assigned participants throughout their academy experience, focusing on networking, grant writing and interpersonal skills development. Her mentoring extends beyond official assignments, as she continues guiding former mentees through complex legal issues and professional challenges.

As treasurer of the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association, Acevedo-Howard modernized the organization’s financial systems, transitioning from paper-based bookkeeping to QuickBooks Online and establishing a money market account to fund programming and scholarships for Hispanic students. She currently serves as president of the Harford County Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association, planning events to expand membership and support community initiatives.

At Rodier Family Law, Acevedo-Howard manages information technology operations alongside her legal practice. In 2023, she and her partners purchased and renovated a historic building dating to 1910, completing the project and relocating the firm in November 2023.

“Coming from a family where my parents are high school graduates, and being the first to graduate from college, become a lawyer, and now a property owner, this has been a dream I once thought was out of reach,” she said.

Acevedo-Howard’s community service includes previous board service with the Harford County Bar Foundation, where she represented underserved clients and participated in Lawyer on the Line, providing free legal advice to individuals unable to afford representation. Her professional achievements earned recognition on The Daily Record’s 2024 Family Law Power List.
