Acme Paper & Supply Co. Inc.

Attman demonstrated exceptional leadership during the COVID-19 outbreak, which he identified as the most significant challenge his company faced. “The most significant challenge that we faced was the COVID-19 outbreak, which had the potential to be a catastrophe,” Attman explained. However, by projecting a positive attitude and maintaining regular communication, Acme was able not only to survive but deepen relationships with clients during this difficult time. The company implemented comprehensive safety measures, including installing an air filtration system in their HVAC and ensuring all employees have the necessary PPE products. Additionally, Acme procured PPE domestically and internationally to supply clients and introduced innovative packaging products that allowed food service customers to transition from tabletop restaurants to carry-out operations.
His leadership philosophy centers on observation and active listening. “I have learned that observing and listening are extremely important components of leading,” Attman said. “When you look and listen to the people you are trying to lead, you can put yourself in their shoes.”
Attman’s commitment to Maryland extends far beyond business. He has dedicated much of his time to nonprofit causes, believing his family “had to do our part in helping people in our community improve their lives.” Attman is an avid golfer who enjoys traveling with Stephanie, his wife of 52 years. They love spending time with their four children, their spouses and nine grandchildren.
