Sinclair, Inc.

Rutishauser joined Sinclair in 1998 as part of the executive team that transformed the company from a primarily family-run local television broadcaster into a diversified media powerhouse employing more than 7,000 people nationwide, with roughly 700 employees in Maryland. Today, Sinclair owns or operates 185 television stations in 86 markets and the Tennis Channel, making it one of the largest television broadcasters in the country.
As chief financial officer, Rutishauser played a pivotal role in Sinclair’s historic achievement of becoming a Fortune 500 company for the first time in 2021. She holds the distinction of being one of fewer than 80 female CFOs among the 500 largest revenue-based companies in the United States and is well-known and respected nationally in the financial community, having served as the face of Sinclair with Wall Street throughout her career.
Beyond financial leadership, Rutishauser has championed initiatives in mentorship, diversity and inclusion, and innovation. She recently led Sinclair’s first official mentorship program, establishing a framework for other department heads to support their teams. As an executive sponsor for environmental, social and governance initiatives, she drives forward-thinking implementations across the company.
Reflecting on her leadership philosophy, Rutishauser noted, “Advancing oneself is not merely about the college you attended; it is about how you apply yourself, your unwavering commitment to personal growth, the way you treat others, and a passion for making a meaningful difference.”
Rutishauser dedicates significant time to mentoring colleagues and college students, equipping them with skills necessary to thrive in the corporate world while actively contributing to local nonprofits.
