Veterans services office opens in Annapolis

Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller joined officials from the Maryland Department of Transportation, Department of Veterans and Military Families and Motor Vehicle Administration to celebrate the opening of a new Veterans Services Office at MVA‘s Annapolis branch.

The office reflects what MVA officials call a continued effort to improve access to vital services for Marylanders – one of the Moore-Miller Administration’s core values. The establishment will offer veterans, active-duty service members and their families a “one-stop experience” with access to benefits counseling, claims assistance and more crucial support services.  

Now that the MVA Annapolis branch will house veterans services, it will act as a service hub for Maryland residents, state officials said, as the site is home to a range of services, including TSA Precheck, TWIC processing, birth and death certificate services, E-ZPass services and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.  

“The Moore-Miller Administration is committed to Leaving No One Behind, especially those who have served our country,” Miller said. 

“By bringing a Veterans Service Office into the Annapolis MVA branch, we are meeting Marylanders where they are and ensuring our veterans and their families have easy access to the resources, care, and support they deserve. This is about making government work better and more efficiently for the people we serve.” 

Located at 160 Harry S. Truman Parkway, the ADA-compliant Annapolis branch houses one of eight Veterans Services Offices opened since 2019 with another scheduled to open in Waldorf this month, MVA confirmed. 

“Having these hubs of government services together at MVA branches across the state saves precious tax dollars and people’s time,” MDOT Acting Secretary Samantha Biddle said. 

“The Department is proud to further the Moore-Miller Administration’s priorities of increasing access to services and centralizing resources.”
