Dr. Marlene Mahipat, DC, MSc, is the owner of Mediquest LLC in Randallstown, where she has demonstrated exceptional dedication to her field and community since founding the practice in 2004.
After earning her Doctor of Chiropractic from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in 2001, Mahipat built her business without investor capital or loans. Her commitment to education continued when she earned a master’s degree in science and therapeutics of medical cannabis from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 2021, graduating with honors and induction into Phi Kappa Phi.
“As a chiropractic physician, I am constantly keeping up with the latest trends and looking for other options to help my patients. After 21 years in practice, I went back to school at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in the pioneer class of medical cannabis science and therapeutic to learn about a more holistic option to help people overcome opioid addiction,” Mahipat stated.
Currently pursuing a diplomate program at the American College of Addictionology and Compulsive Disorders, Mahipat remains committed to addressing addiction issues.
“In my professional work, as well as my outreach work, I see so many people addicted to pain medications and illegal drugs. This has caused a downward spiral in their lives to where they are now living on the streets and far removed from society. With all of these new degrees and knowledge, I hope to help these people rise from this darkness of opioid addiction,” she said.
Her community service record includes founding two nonprofit organizations focused on human and animal welfare. In 2024, she distributed 1,000 customized backpacks with supplies to
Baltimore children, provided toys to 3,000 children during holidays and created 300 meal packages for homeless individuals.
Mahipat serves on the board of Girl Scouts of Central Maryland. She also serves as president and founder of both H.O.P.E. Foundation and P.L.E.A.S.E. Foundation.
