Baltimore tech company raises $15M for product development, team expansion
Pixee, a Baltimore-based software company, has announced it raised $15 million in seed funding that will go toward scaling up its go-to-market team and accelerating product development.
The funding, made possible by strategic investments from venture capital firms, including Columbia-based TEDCO, will help the company to drive awareness of its artificial intelligence-powered solutions and customer adoption.
“Developers are more prolific today than ever before, especially those leveraging the latest genAI tools like Cursor, Claude Code & GitHub Co-pilot,” said Surag Patel, CEO and co-founder of Pixee.
“By focusing on capabilities like automated, production-ready code fixes directly into developer workflows and automating expert automated triage for security, enterprises can now ship secure code at unprecedented velocity.”
Founded by Patel and Arshan Dabirsiaghi in 2022, Pixee is an enterprise-grade platform that automates what company leaders call the “last mile of application security” — from alerts to resolution.
Featuring technology that uses agentic AI and deterministic techniques to deliver automatic code fixes, the company was established to equip security teams with suitable platforms to match the velocity of software development in the modern generative AI coding era.
“Maryland is not only home to the top concentration of STEM researchers and workers in the country, but the state is also the epicenter of cybersecurity talent worldwide,” TEDCO CEO Troy LeMaile-Stovall said in a statement.
