President and CEODr. Erin Lamb Ph.D., president and CEO of Gateway Maryland, has led the nonprofit to impressive growth and financial stability since taking the helm in 2017. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded its annual revenue from $6.9 million to $11.4 million, transitioning from persistent budget deficits to running with a profit.
Lamb’s vision for Gateway Maryland focuses on sustainability, growth and community service excellence. Her innovative approach has allowed the organization to thrive even during challenging times, including the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period, Gateway Maryland’s school tripled its enrollment, meeting the rising demand for special education services.
“I describe myself as a connector, disruptor and entertainer,” Lamb said. “These attributes serve me and the organization well in good and hard times.”
Lamb’s competitive spirit and innovative mindset have been pivotal in driving Gateway Maryland’s success. She has secured new strategic partnerships, boosting brand awareness and funding. Notable achievements include a six-figure philanthropic gift supporting a partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association and a six-figure gift from the state of Maryland for physical plant improvements.
Beyond her professional achievements, Lamb is actively involved in various community organizations. She serves on the Truist Bank Community Advisory Board and has held leadership positions in organizations such as Baltimore HEARS and the National Association of Speech and Hearing Centers.
