As co-founder and CEO of the Potomac-based Curbio, Rick Rudman heads a home improvement company for realtors and their clients that, according to his LinkedIn profile, uses technology to “deliver speed, reliability and a modern customer experience to help agents sell more homes quickly and for the best price while minimizing the agent’s time and risk.”
A 1980 graduate of the University of Maryland, Rudman founded Curbio in 2017 after a series of management jobs with various companies.
“I’m at my best when I am focused on big opportunities and helping others perform at their best to achieve them,” Rudman said.
The economic crash of 2008 was a tough test for him and his company, Rudman said.
“Our company went from growing 35% a year to not growing year over year,” he said. “I learned that the road to success is not a straight one and that I can take setbacks and find new ways to move forward towards my goals.”
Asked what he is passionate about, Rudman said that he has served on the boards of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the Kennedy Kreeger Institute – “two great institutions helping disadvantaged and neurodiverse children.”
Since Curbio was founded, Rudman added, he has become a supporter of helping provide housing for the needy. In that role, he has worked with such organizations as the Montgomery County nonprofit Interfaith Works – which has cited him as “Humanitarian of the Year.”
