What do you think is the No. 1 challenge working women face?
The No. 1 challenge I have faced as a mom with a full-time job is that our approaches to work and home life has been shaped by expectations that there would be one main caretaker full time at home. There is an increase in workplace flexibilities to recognize that workers are people with relationships, responsibilities, and roles that extend outside the workplace. We still have a lot of work to do to ensure that instead of moms who are also leaders in the workforce for being superheroes, we restructure things to ensure they don’t have to be superheroes to be successful.
