Principal, Compass Government Relations

As a principal of government relations for Compass Advocacy, Alexandra Shull McKitrick uses her decade of legislative, lobbying, and advocacy experience at the federal, state, and local levels of government, to help clients advance their missions and objectives. McKitrick manages the Delaware book for Compass’ Government Affairs practice. She has an extensive background in business and tax policy, particularly within the transportation and logistics industries. She is also experienced working in cannabis, energy, and civil justice policy, assisting clients with procurement in Maryland and Delaware.

What do you think is the number one challenge working women face?

Overcoming perfection is a challenge that working women face daily. We are getting to a place in the world where it is not uncommon for women to be the caretakers and the breadwinners in their homes. As leaders, we want to do it all and do it all perfectly, at home and in the workplace. We need to give ourselves grace, delegate, and know that there is a difference between perfectionism and a healthy striving for excellence. We set the example now for future strong women.
