Eric Lapp was one of the first people Kate Lawrence hired when she founded Lawrence Law, and he soon became her right-hand man, wrote Lindsay Hebert who nominated Lapp for this year’s paralegal award.
A construction litigation paralegal with more than 10 years legal experience, Lapp assists the firm with client litigation, collections and administrative management, according to his LinkedIn profile and the firm’s website.
“He helps keep the firm’s attorneys organized and efficient, and clients love him for his professional demeanor,” Hebert wrote. “Eric always has a positive attitude and his can-do mentality has been instrumental in the growth of the law practice and the firm overall.”
Outside the firm, Lapp is a scholar in archaeology. He earned a bachelor’s degree in geoarchaeology from The College of Wooster and his Ph.D. in Religion/Near East Archaeology from Duke University.
He has authored several articles about light use in ancient times and recently contributed an article to the Journal of Roman Archaeology, published by Cambridge University Press.
He earned his certificate in paralegal studies from the Community College of Baltimore County. Now he teaches business law, introductory law, and legal ethics at the community college. “Eric is being recognized for his exceptional work and his significant contributions to our firm and our clients,” Lawrence Law wrote in a LinkedIn announcement about Lapp’s honor.
