Bulitt’s mission is to resolve problems out of court. He practices alternative dispute resolution in domestic matters and all areas of family law, particularly disputes that involve complex financial and property matters and property distribution, divorce and child custody disputes. He is often appointed to serve in one of the most difficult and demanding legal roles, as a best interests attorney for children whose parents are embroiled in high conflict custody disputes. He also has extensive experience working with families that have children with special needs.
Bulitt is frequently named to top Washington, D.C., Metro lawyer lists. He has been named one of the area’s “Top Divorce Lawyers” by Washingtonian Magazine and Bethesda Magazine. He has also been recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” and one of Maryland’s and Washington, D.C.’s “Super Lawyers.”
Bulitt is the first member of his family to earn a professional degree. He is a published author. His most recent book, “The 5 Core Conversations for Couples,” is co-written with his wife, Julie Bulitt, who is a family therapist. The couple has another book set to publish this year. Bulitt’s novels, “Card Game,” and “Because I Had To,” were published in 2015 and 2017 respectively.
