Self-care connects everything in life: career, interactions and one’s personal life. Is this something you are doing well or is this a goal? What are your secrets if you are succeeding and what are you goals if this is a focus area where you want to learn from others?
I am doing this well! Thirty minutes of mediation a day and four to five workouts a week is simply non-negotiable. Others say they can’t make the time. In my mind, I can’t afford to not make the time. These activities help me be my best for work and home. I plot these activities onto my calendar first and everything else falls around this. I am proud to role model this for my staff, as well. I am the caretaker for my 80-year-old father. Working out together twice a week is not only great for our own personal physical and emotional health, it’s great bonding time that strengthens our relationship.
Why community service has been an important part of my personal and professional development.
It is so rewarding to find new and different ways to make an impact on society. Community service is also a wonderful way to connect with other like-minded individuals joining forces to amplify the positive change and building bridges of friendship and partnership that can last forever. Serving others in our community has deepened my empathy and has allowed me to deeply understand that we are all part of the same human family. Community service critical to your career and your personal leadership journey?
