Moira Moynihan Cyphers already had nearly a decade of experience in legislative affairs in Maryland when she joined the Annapolis firm of Compass Government Relations Partners LLC as a principal in 2018.
She has represented clients before the Maryland General Assembly in Annapolis, the Montgomery County Council, the Washington, D.C., City Council and in Frederick County.
She particularly excels in the policy area of health care.
“The No. 1 challenge women face right now is access to child care,” she said “The past two years have been filled with impossible choices for families. What’s safe? What’s not? And, that has made it very hard to balance a full-time career and raising children.
“We need to normalize things like paid family leave, affordable child care for all families and other family-friendly policies you see in other countries across the world.”
She said it was a “big honor” to be named a Leading Women by “the newspaper of record for anyone in Maryland politics.”
“I’m glad The Daily Record is using their platform to elevate the change women are inspiring in the workplace and in their community.”
