Associate Attorney

Rosenberg Martin Greenberg LLP

Before becoming a lawyer, Lauren McLarney worked in government affairs for the National Federation of the Blind, which completely changed her paradigm about people with disabilities.

When she joined a full-service business firm, she wasn’t sure how much of that work would continue. But she has been able to build a practice focused on blind entrepreneurs in a federal program who need due process hearings across five states and growing.

“I knew early in my career I did not want to wake up one day, like Jerry Maguire, and hate my ‘place in the world,’ ” McLarney said. “So, while I spend an enormous amount of time (like most young attorneys) just learning how to do this job and supporting the partners, I have made it a point to keep my interests and passion for disability issues and juvenile justice as part of the professional mix from day one.”

McLarney earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. She has served on the board of the Maryland Public Interest Project.

McLarney always tries to talk with people with whom she disagrees.

“A government ‘of the people’ is only as good as the people,” McLarney said. “If we can’t talk to each other, we have a real problem.”
