Elizabeth J. McInturff entered JDKatz, PC as a partner in 2019 and since then has used her position to create a pathway for attorneys behind her to rise in their careers.
McInturff chaired the mentor/mentee Committee for the Bar Association of Montgomery County. A lack of meaningful mentorship is one of the most pressing challenges women face, she said.
“Many women report feeling pressured to opt-out of a career field or guided to tracks that do not lead to positions of power,” McInturff said. “Mentorship is critical in connecting them to positions of power within their professions and communities.”
McInturff is the chair of the bar’s Leadership Development Academy, where outreach is focused on those who are newer attorneys and those who have historically been overlooked.
She earned her Juris Doctor from Washington College of Law at American University and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware. A civil litigator, she was previously an attorney at Stein Sperling and Joseph Greenwald & Laake.
McInturff also is a board member and committee lead for Bike to the Beach, a charity that raises funds for those in the autism and intellectual developmental disability communities.
