Elizabeth A. Mosser’s approach to leadership is taking time to “profoundly and positively” impact people around her.

“The women selected for this award represent a strong cross section of women as they pursue meaningful work in their fields,” Mosser said. “It was through my interactions with mentors across my career that helped me develop a clear understanding of my leadership philosophy. And, every day I work to embody the values of inclusivity, creativity and hard work — ensuring I am a ‘servant’ leader and that I inspire and support my teams.”

Mosser is pursuing a doctor of philosophy in higher education leadership for changing populations. She earned a master’s in educational philosophy from Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

At Harford CC, she co-leads the institution-wide “Achieving the Dream” movement to better structure student success efforts.

Mosser is the chairman of the board of directors for the Harford Family House, which assists families with children, and unaccompanied young adults experiencing homelessness achieve independence through housing, support and resources. In 2020, she became the co-chair of a sleepout event to support neighbors experiencing homelessness.
