Another former Maryland governor is joining the faculty of the .

Parris N. Glendening, who served as governor from 1995 to 2003, will join the Carey Business School as a visiting professor focusing on smart growth, community design, infrastructure and real estate, according to a statement from the university. 8a MML Glendening, ParisMF07

“Governor Glendening, with his years of service in education and government, understands what it means to build better communities. He will be a welcome addition to our faculty, and we are thrilled to have him join us,” Bernard T. Ferarri, dean of the Carey School, said in a statement.

Glendening is president of Smart Growth America’s Leadership Institute. He also served as Prince George’s County executive from 1982-1994 and was an associate professor of government and politics at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Two years ago, former Gov. Martin J. O’Malley joined the Carey School as a visiting professor of government, business and urban issues.

Earlier this year, former joined the university as a professor of public policy and adviser to Johns Hopkins University President Ronald J. Daniels.
