Hogan raises nearly $4M in past year for re-election fund

ANNAPOLIS — Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has raised nearly $4 million over the past year for his re-election.

The governor and other Maryland officials d a midnight Wednesday deadline to file campaign reports. The Maryland Republican filed his report earlier in the day.

Hogan, who used public funds to win the 2014 election, had a prior balance of about $2 million. Campaign finance records show he spent about $1.3 million in the last year.

Hogan has a cash balance of about $4.6 million. Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford raised about $565,000 for the same period. The lieutenant governor has a cash balance of about $491,000.
