A former prosecutor and a police officer have been charged with and misconduct in office stemming from a scheme involving fraudulent overtime slips.

Molly Webb, a former Assistant State’s Attorney, and Baltimore Officer Timothy Stach were charged Wednesday. Police say Stach has been suspended without pay.

Police say the investigation revealed that Stach submitted overtime slips for time spent appearing in court that he didn’t actually work.

Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger, whose office handled the case, said all such slips must be signed by a prosecutor. Shellenberger says Webb is charged because she signed off on fraudulent slips for Stach and another officer, who was not charged because of “insufficient evidence.”

Interim Police Commissioner said that the department has “no tolerance” for theft.
