Millennial Media Inc., of Baltimore, a developer of mobile advertising, said Friday that it received clearance from the Federal Trade Commission to proceed with its proposed acquisition of Boston-based Jumptap Inc., after passing the required waiting period under the federal Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust law.

On Aug. 13, 2013, Millennial announced it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately held Jumptap, a rival mobile advertising company, for approximately $225 million in stock. The deal must be approved by Millennial Media’s stockholders before it takes effect.
