Amphitheater construction underway in Delmar
Associated Press//September 20, 2013//
DELMAR — Construction on a 7,000-seat outdoor concert venue is underway in Delmar.
Officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for The Amphitheater at Heron Ponds on Thursday.
The owner of the property, Doug Marshall, says he expects the venue will be up and running in about two to three years. It will be a venue for a variety of entertainment including concerts, festivals, theater, sporting events, and auto shows.
But residents don’t have to wait to enjoy entertainment on the 30-acre site. During construction there are plans to offer drive-in movies every Friday and Saturday beginning Sept. 27. The cost will be $10 per car.
