Defense contractor cutting 25 jobs in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — State officials say a national security contractor is cutting 25 jobs in Frederick.
The Frederick News-Post reported Thursday that Sotera Defense Solutions Inc., of Herndon, Va., has filed a layoff notice with the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
An agency spokeswoman says the layoffs are scheduled for Monday.
Sotera is a technology company that works with federal intelligence, defense and law-enforcement agencies. Its specialties include counterterrorism and cybersecurity.
The company says it has about 1,500 employees in Maryland, Virginia and South Carolina.
