Jobs legislation will wait until January

ANNAPOLIS — House Speaker Michael Busch says lawmakers will discuss options for trying to increase jobs in during next week’s on congressional redistricting, but aimed at spurring job growth won’t be taken on until the regular 90-day session in January.

Busch, D-Anne Arundel, said Thursday the will hold hearings and presentations to define what the challenges are and what could be done to address them.

The speaker says lawmakers will talk about potential tax credits and how to do away with duplicative regulations that stand in the way of business and development. Busch says he believes job creation legislation needs to be considered as a package and not done in a piecemeal fashion.

Gov. has called a special session to begin Monday for redistricting.
