Ocean City businesses raided for counterfeit goods

OCEAN CITY — officers have raided two dozen businesses suspected of trafficking in goods.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials conducted the raids on Wednesday, with help from the and state and local police. Authorities confiscated mass quantities of bootlegged and fraudulent merchandise.

A filed last summer in federal court in Baltimore by luxury handbag maker Coach Inc. says that an investigator for the company entered 13 stores in the city in June and bought counterfeit bags, wallets and other items for prices ranging from $20 to $75.
