2 Ehrlich operatives have arraignments set

Two political operatives for former Republican Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. are scheduled to be in court relating to robocalls made on Election Day.

Paul Schurick and Julius Henson will be arraigned Monday in Baltimore City Circuit Court.

A grand jury indicted them in June for allegedly conspiring to use robocalls to discourage voters from going to the polls. The indictments resulted from an investigation into robocalls that told supporters of incumbent Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley to relax, because he already had won.

Robocalls are unsolicited, automatic telephone calls. They are an inexpensive tool that can be used to reach voters in a certain area or to reach certain types of voters.
