Associated Press//January 13, 2011//
SILVER SPRING — Montgomery County officials say a mixed-used development will be built next to a future purple line light rail station in Silver Spring.
Officials said Wednesday that the project will be built by the Donohue Cos. and the Montgomery Housing Partnership on a one-acre site at Fenton and Bonifant streets. The site is near the new Silver Spring library, which is set to open in 2014.
County spokeswoman Mary Anderson says the project will include mixed-income residential units and commercial space.
Trains could start running on the purple line in 2016.
